About us
Dressing Mumbai since 2001
Kalapi opened its doors on S. V. Road, Borivali West in 2001 with a single focus, fine ethnic menswear. Kurtas, sherwanis and wedding wear for the grooms and gentlemen of Mumbai, chosen piece by piece and sold with honest advice.
Word travelled the way it does in Mumbai, from one wedding to the next. The men who shopped with us brought their families, and the women asked a fair question, where is our collection? So we built it. Bridal lehengas, designer sarees, anarkalis and shararas joined the racks, and the women’s floor soon became the heart of the store.
The newest chapter is our favourite, a full kids section for boys and girls, because the little ones deserve to twirl too. Today, more than two decades since that first shutter went up, three generations of the same families shop at Kalapi for every wedding, festival and celebration in between.
